How New Work is becoming a gamechanger for Qontigo

Do you know Qontigo? Unless you happen to work in the financial sector, probably not. Yet the company is responsible for the world-renowned DAX and STOXX indices, making it one of the leading service providers in the fields of financial intelligence and modern investment management. Qontigo is also part of the renowned Deutsche Börse Group with headquarters in Eschborn and branches in London, Zug and New York. Together with our partner Designfunktion, we supported the multi-award-winning company in the design and furnishing of its new working environments in Eschborn.

How do you design an ideal meeting place for international teams?

"We created a holistic design concept tailored to the needs and working style of the Qontigo team. Our work included the development and implementation of the company's corporate identity and colour concept," says Marina Kahl, interior designer at Designfunktion, describing the scope of the project. The task was to design the approximately 1,600 sqm of office space for a team of 50 specialists in such a way that the way of working aimed even more than before at an agile, dynamic and motivated cooperation of the international team. "We have a long and productive partnership with Deutsche Börse Group. It was therefore a pleasure for us to be able to deliver a customised interior design concept for Qontigo as well, in line with their working culture and to help them achieve their goals," says Marina Kahl.

The transformation of the rooms began with the transformation of the previously used double offices into an open area divided into individual work zones. In the open space, communication and social interaction were to be significantly strengthened after months of reduced contacts due to the pandemic: On their return to the office, the employees were to find a place of identification and rooms to feel comfortable. From a previously rather grey uniform look, our partner Designfunktion developed diverse new impulses with versatile furniture, haptic and visual stimuli.

This is how the transformation of the office world acts as a gamechanger for collaboration

  • Open space with optimised room acoustics and informal character
  • inviting lounge areas
  • contemporary ergonomic furniture
  • Innovative colour concept
  • Use of biophilia elements and plants
  • Integration of company-typical graphics and design elements

We developed a concept that contrasted the corporate colours with clear statement colours and allowed a workshop character to enter the rooms.

"We receive positive feedback from Qontigo and see this as proof that our concept worked," says Marina Kahl. "The ergonomic furniture is a quantum leap from what was used before and also in the home office. The bold use of colours, the use of biophilic elements such as moss walls or the integration of graphics on walls and glass elements gives the working environment an informal character that goes down very well." An initial résumé shows that cross-team collaboration has intensified significantly.

  • TALO.YOU sit-stand workstations with panels INSIDE.25
  • Individually adjustable swivel chairs from the JET series.
  • Upholstery elements from the NET.WORK.PLACE Organic and NET.WORK.PLACE programmes set colour accents in the communication areas.
  • High meeting tables with PUBLICA

It was an exciting and intensive collaboration between all those involved in the project. König + Neurath supported us as a full-service provider with sustainable office furniture and room systems that can be converted, supplemented and thus adapted to new challenges in the future.
