König + Neurath equips third Dentsu location in Zurich

In the competition for exciting accounts or the best creative and strategic masterminds, agencies are not only helped by international awards and good results in creative rankings, but also by factors such as the attractiveness of the workplace. König + Neurath provided the international network agency with customised ideas and furnishing solutions for its Zurich office. The cooperation is already the third joint project with Dentsu.

Raw wood, lots of glass, open room structures, metal elements. The colours black and grey dominate the picture. The sustainably designed company headquarters of Dentsu in Zurich, which was conceived by the planning studio Büronauten there, is characterised by an industrial charm that suits the location, industry and activity well. The space is rhythmically divided into variously sized individual work areas designed with plywood panels and thus appearing unpretentious, team workplaces, team and meeting tables, glazed conference rooms, lounges furnished to a high standard and informal meeting zones.

Wood plays an important role as a design element. As a material for tables, shelves and wall surfaces - just like the carpet tiles, plants and bulbous lounge furniture - it forms an exciting contrast to the rather cool, industrial-looking concrete, glass and metal surfaces.

The ideal setting for all forms of modern office work

The design concept, which was preceded by a comprehensive analysis of the workflow and workshops on how it would later be used, pays tribute to the Dentsu brand and provides the framework for all modern forms of office work. The offices designed by the Berlin Graef Office Team in Munich in 2018 and Frankfurt in 2019 were already set up for desk-sharing and activity-based working - even though the pandemic-related changes in the world of work were not yet foreseeable.

Creativity finds a home here

"Our corporate architecture needs an exciting, bright and varied design," Daniel Ahrens emphasises. "Our way of working has always been very agile. Creativity and flexibility play an important role in our working culture. That's why the focus when furnishing the Frankfurt office was also on open room structures, desk sharing and flexible workplace concepts," says Daniel Ahrens, Director of Workplace at Dentsu. He was responsible for the furnishing and design of the premises at the three locations, which had been realised in the last few years. König + Neurath contributed comprehensive know-how and the appropriate furnishing concepts in all cases.

With our high-quality furniture, we support the dynamic working methods of the flexibly working teams: the TALO.S motorised desk enables a quick change of working position, while the OKAY.III office chair with its movable backrest optimally supports the back and at the same time encourages the users to keep moving. The ACTA.PLUS lockers not only offer secure storage options, but also function as a meeting point with colleagues during check-in and check-out.

Partnership and flexibility: proven cooperationit

"For us it was clear that we would work with König + Neurath again in Zurich. We experienced the team not only as imaginative, reliable and cooperative, but also as very flexible. In some cases, our requirements could not be met with off-the-shelf solutions, and König + Neurath was able to convince us with customised furnishing ideas," says Daniel Ahrens from Dentsu. "We decided on a customising solution for the table tops, which gave us a particularly filigree look and saved us a standard top that would have been much more expensive from another supplier

This is now the third time that Dentsu has benefited from the advantages that cooperation with a full-range supplier opens up. "Products tailored directly to our wishes, produced from a single source and made in Germany. Plus delivery and assembly with our own logistics team - this offers us special process reliability," Ahrens states the arguments that convinced him again. We add: cooperative planning, a reliable team of experts, holistic approaches. Once again, the project was a success in more ways than one.

Inspiring working environment for the fifth largest network agency in the world

According to gross profit, Dentsu is the fifth largest advertising agency in the world and, as an integrated network agency, houses numerous renowned players under its roof. In Germany, more than 1500 experts work in the agency group for communication and media consulting - for well-known clients such as Siemens, Volkswagen or Deutsche Bahn. Offering them an optimal environment was already our goal in Munich in 2018 and in Frankfurt in 2019. In the Bavarian metropolis, the task was to create ideal working environments on 1800 square metres of space that fit the working culture, and at Frankfurt's Westhafen, the team of the network agency even has 7000 square metres of space at its disposal. In Zurich, we created a working environment for 110 employees on 1550 square metres of space in the so-called Club Office together with the Büronauten.
